GTI has launched a new programme in gaming and animation. The course is QQI level 5 accredited and covers the areas of animation, games, visual effects and digital media. The course runs for the first time in September 2014. This programme has been introduced to meet the growing needs of the animation and games industry which has highlighted a shortage of skilled professionals in this area. Demand is currently outweighing supply in the gaming industry which bodes well for those interested in applying for the course.
Course content includes design and development of games and animation with the use of 3d software , drawing studies, design skills and audio production. A work experience module is also included at the end of the course.
The facilities at GTI College include state of the art computer labs hosting up to date design and development software. The college also has a recording studio, a radio lab and television performance space.
